Meeting Blogger Friends: Hizzeather

It’s always an exciting thing when you meet a new friend. It’s even cooler when you can meet that person on their wedding day. Yesterday I finally met Heather (Hizzeather) and her new husband Cody. I drove up to their beautifully decorated reception in Palmdale in record time, so I was able to enjoy all of the reception festivities.

Most of her decorations were hand-made, in green, black and white. It was beautiful, but very personal to her too. I loved the pink roses trailing down her cake.

My favorite part of the reception was watching them dance. You could just tell how in love they are. And halfway through their romantic first dance, they broke out into some funky moves, just like the Youtube Wedding Couple.
Going to a reception for a virtual stranger can be a bit daunting, so I asked Heather who I should go talk to so I didn’t feel like a lonely idiot. She suggested that I talk to Debbie, we hit it off and talked the rest of the reception.

Four Years

Today Taylor and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. I decided to post a few pics from the beginning of our relationship.

Taylor and I met on ldsmingle.com. Above is the profile picture that Taylor fell in love with. He specifically searched for girls with dark hair and blue eyes. He sent me a “wink,” I replied with an email, and a few days later we met for lunch. Below is Taylor’s profile picture from Mingle.
We met in April 2004, but sparks didn’t really fly until July. We went on two dates in April, and I thought he was wonderful, but the timing wasn’t right. The next time I saw him was on my family’s 4th of July BBQ at Grant and Hollie’s. Things went really well, he loved my family, and we set up a date for the next Saturday. That night we had our first kiss, and we started seeing each other frequently.

This picture is the first one we took of us together. I surprised him with tickets to the Sarah McLachlan concert, and we snapped this one before we left for the concert. We stayed up talking until 3 am that night, and that’s the night we started talking about getting married.

Here’s the picture that we enclosed with our wedding announcement.

Here’s a picture I love from our first trip to California together in September 2004.

Geez…What a Life!

Just a quick update:

Getting married Friday October 8. Sealing is at Mt Timpanogas Temple at 1:00, Reception at 6:30 in Murray. If you didn’t get an invite and want to come…let me know.

Steve was arrested and put in jail. His family put up money to bail him out (The bail was set at $150k)

Rosie is doing better, but still quite sensitive in most aspects. She’s excited to have Taylor be a part of our family.

My brother Jacob suffered a head injury. He is in the ICU at LDS Hospital currently, with a baseline fracture of the skull and subdural hematoma. Last CT scan looks okay, very little bleeding at this point. He will recover, but I just got back from the hospital and he was really sedated. He is so sad he’ll miss the wedding. It will be sad to not have Jacob there. Keep him in your prayers!

Due to the fact that we both mistakenly chose to marry
unappreciative, selfish and overbearing people the first
time around…

they will tie the proverbial knot.

No Gifts Please!

You don’t marry someone you can live with,
You marry the person you cannot live without.
